From a Hobby to a Legacy
They say that passion can manifest in unexpected ways. For me, it began as a young girl observing my mother's incredible creations in upholstery and soft furnishings. She had an uncanny ability to breathe new life into old furniture, design stunning curtains, create magnificent headboards and when her teacher told her its not possible she made it happen. Inspired by her skills, I yearned to follow in her footsteps and make a mark in this creative domain but never had the courage to take the plunge. Our path took an unexpected turn when my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 incurable bowel cancer in October 2023. This life-altering moment led me to reevaluate my priorities, and together, we decided to embark on a journey that would fuse our shared love for upholstery and create a legacy that would perpetuate her spirit through Creature Comforts Upholstery.
The Decision to Take the Plunge:
Upon learning about my mother's illness, I made the heartfelt decision to finish work and prioritise her care and well-being. Little did I know that this decision would also ignite a newfound determination to turn our shared passion for upholstery and soft furnishing into a full-fledged business. It was in these moments of caring for her that we find solace, inspiration, and a profound connection through the world of fabrics, creativity, and design.
