Guide to Measuring Windows for Roman Blinds and Curtains

Measuring for Roman Blinds:
Width Measurement:
Measure the width of the window recess at three different points - top, middle, and bottom.
Use the smallest measurement to ensure your roman blind fits perfectly within the recess.
Drop Measurement:
For inside recess fitting, measure the drop from the top of the recess to the windowsill at three different points - left, middle, and right.
If you prefer an outside recess fitting, measure from where you want the top of the blind to be down to where you want it to finish.
Additional Tips:
Round down to the nearest 1/8 inch for width and to the nearest 1/8 inch for drop.
Double-check all measurements to avoid any errors.
Measuring for Curtains:
Width Measurement:
For curtain poles, measure the width between the finials.
If you're using a track, measure the full width of the track.
Drop Measurement:
For the drop, decide if you want your curtains to fall to the windowsill, below it, or to the floor.
Measure from the top of the pole or track (where the curtain will be attached) to your desired endpoint.
Additional Tips:
Add extra length to your drop measurement if you want your curtains to pool on the floor for a luxurious look.
Consider adding a few extra inches to the width for a fuller, more elegant look when the curtains are closed.
